Determination of Genetic Diversity in Banana and Bell Pepper Lines Using Molecular Markers

Successful hybrid cultivar breeding is depend on the high genetic diversity of plant sources, as well homozygous and genetically distant lines requiring hybridization. The aim this study to determine distance between inbred pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) in order increase efficacy program. In study, distances 44 bell peppers 35 banana were investigated using SRAP (Sequence Related Amplified Polymorphism) markers. Based pattern scores, dendrograms produced by UPGMA (unweighted pair-group method mathematical averages method). Out 71 primer combinations tested, 50 revealed polymorphisms among lines, a total 123 polymorphic bands obtained. 24 tested 15 had 25 bands. cluster analysis, divided into groups peppers. While similarity varied 0.62 0.98, 0.54 1.00. As result, it can be stated that markers used successfully for determining thus will help programme.
